Everyone knows the popular wedding phrase, ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence for her shoe’, but does anyone actually follow this old time tradition?
The answer is yes! When surveyed, 78% of UK brides said that yes, they would be following the tradition and a further 16% said that they were undecided. Just 6% of UK brides said that they would not be following the tradition.
It is thought that wearing something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue will bring good luck to the bearer and can include anything and everything from jewellery to headwear, an old wedding dress, a blue garter and more!
